New places and new faces!

 
Week 24
 
    Last friday we went to the EPHJ industry fair! We got to go around and see the different suppliers and manufacturers who make up the watch industry.

    We also have 4 new students starting this week! In workshop A doing the 1 year course is Harold from Canada. In workshop B we have Ivan from Italy, Louis from America and Varun from India, who are all doing the 2 year fullskill course!

Workshop B

Students:

    Dean, Ivan, Louis, Tetsu, Varun, Xin

    This week Xin is taking his final exam! He started on wednesday and he will finish today! Best of luck to him!

    This week, Ivan, Louis and Varun started the filing lesson and are making their tools! Ivan and Louis are doing the truing guide and Varun is working on his balance bridge holder.

    This week, Dean and Tetsu continued working hard on the Balance & Hairspring unit. Henrik introduced them to “2nd pinning”, “flattening & centering”, “regulating curve & double bend” and “timing”.

    Dean and Tetsu have been experiencing lots of challenges, but at the same time having fun doing the tasks, even when they spent a whole day working on just one hairspring without success. Practice exams are just around the corner.

 

GUEST STARRING

Workshop A

Students: 

   Daniel, David, Harold, Miguel

    This week Daniel is measuring the wheel distances on an Omega caliber 286 for his school watch!

      This week Harold started on filing and making his tools. He started working on his poising plate and is now in the process of straight-graining it.

    David made a new winding stem for his Longines cal.341!

    This week, Miguel took his final winding stem exam and passed! With that out of the way he can now proceed to making pivot gauges!

 We will be having 2 consecutive weeks of bench testers!
